Στις αρχές του 1989, ένα άγνωστο (στον έξω κόσμο) σουηδικό ντουέτο, οι Roxette, κυκλοφορούν στη χώρα τους το δεύτερο δίσκο τους, το Look Sharp!.
Το κομμάτι τους The Look ξεχωρίζει αμέσως και κάνει τα καλλίγραμμα σουηδικά κορμιά να κουνιούνται πέρα-δώθε, τόσο στις πίστες όσο και στις συναυλίες που το ντουέτο ξεκίνησε με αφορμή την κυκλοφορία του δίσκου.
Σε κάποια απ'αυτές, ένα αμερικανάκι φοιτητάριο ακούει το διαμαντάκι και παθαίνει έναν ντουβρουτζά. Αγοράζει την κασέτα (ναι, ναι κασέτες τότε, τι νομίζατε;) και, μόλις γυρίζει στην πατρίδα του λίγες μέρες μετά, τη δίνει στον KDWB, έναν ραδιοφωνικό σταθμό της Μινεάπολις. Από κει, τρελλένονται κι'άλλοι παραγωγοί και συμβαίνει το εξής κουφό : ν'ανέβει το κομμάτι στο Νο1 των αμερικάνικων τσαρτ χωρίς να έχει κυκλοφορήσει ούτε καν το 45άρι!

Η συνέχεια είναι λίγο-πολύ γνωστή : οι Roxette έγιναν διάσημοι, το δε κομμάτι να χτυπήσει κόκκινο παντού.
Ο ρυθμός του είναι ένα pop-rock συνοθύλευμα με δυνατές κιθάρες και καθαρά ντραμς. Το όλο έδωσε στους χοροπηδηχτάδες ένα απίθανο τετράλεπτο εκτόνωσης.
